Meadna - Magazine Review

Today Meadna brings you a brief look at an Eritrean lifestyle magazine, Elem. This magazine has been in circulation in many countries including here in the UK for a while. The aim of this full-colour, glossy magazine is devoted to Eritrean culture, art and history and reports on events around the world.  It also brings the success of Eritreans in different fields to light.

The most recent issue (no 4) covers topics including interviews with successful Eritreans, fashion, Eritrea’s architect, identity, art and articles on famous Eritrean singers and musicians. With its glossy and full-colour looks, Elem comes across as typical western lifestyle magazine, but with Eritrean beauties such as Helen Meles and Surina as well as Eritrean rich culture and art.

There is also an interesting article that addresses the social problems that young people face. A young lady shares a story of homelessness and going through transition. Meadna commends Elem magazine and this young Eritrean for sharing her story and encourages others to communicate their stories through Eritrean mediums.

The next issue of this great magazine will be published in July, for more information visit www.elemonline.com .
