We Eritreans residing in New York City and the surrounding areas:

Having:    participated in this Historic New York City Hezbawi Mekete Meeting, on this day of December 2, 2007, under the Slogan, “Defending and Saving the Nation First” and confirmed our commitment and readiness to stand up for the Eritrea:

Having: exhaustively discussed the current situation, in particular the struggle to establish a prosperous and united Eritrea; the strategy to foster self reliance and all other economic activities being undertaken by the People, Defense Forces and Government of Eritrea under the Warsai Yikealo campaign:

Realizing: that these activities will play decisive roles in the defense and development of Eritrea:

Taking note: of the schemes being designed and the military preparations in progress by the TPLF regime in Ethiopia and its sponsoring partners, specially the US,  in their attempt to abolish Eritrean sovereignty:

Understanding: the coordinated campaign being undertaken to attempt to vilify the people and Government of Eritrea, themselves victims of terrorism, as terrorists and attempts to reverse and alter the Algiers Agreement of 2002 and the EEBC decision  :

Have resolved as follows: 

We demand the immediate and unconditional demarcation of the Eritrean Ethiopian Border in accordance with the 2002 Algiers agreement and EEBC rulings. We call upon the Algiers Agreement guarantors to abide by their commitment and force the TPLF regime in Ethiopia to unconditionally submit to the rule law.

We condemn any attempts to create mechanisms outside of the Algiers 2002 Agreement and the Hague ruling which undermine the legal and peaceful resolution of the border issue.

We condemn all deliberate and unjust campaign geared towards attempting to destroy the unity of Eritrea, defaming the People its Government and the P.F.D.J.

We recognize and appreciate Eritrean efforts to promote peace, stability and development in the Horn of Africa.

We reject the false     and unsubstantiated claims made against Eritrea, itself a victim, of sponsoring terrorism. The people and Government of Eritrea will continue to be defenders against terrorism. In particular the Eritrean people will fight back the Eritrean Islamic Jehadists who are funded, trained and armed by the Ethiopian regime to carry out terrorist acts against the civilian population of Eritrea.

We denounce all calls for wars, threats of use of force and acts of aggression against Eritrea by the TPLF controlled government in Ethiopia.

We re-affirm our readiness to protect Eritreas’ sovereignty, to perform all duties required of us..

We commend Eritreas exemplary commitment to development, hard work through the Warsay Yekealo campaign. As a gesture of our support to the development activities being undertaken in the Nation, we the participants of this meeting each pledge to contribute US$ 500.
